Painting: 'Deep calls to deep'

I painted this for the Film and Arts festival at Church over Easter.

We discovered later it was only the films that had to feature an anchor... oh well, I'm still loving that:

It's THE CROSS! His blood and sacrifice
It's the hope I have found in HIM
It's knowing I am completely loved
That anchor my heart and soul

SECURE.

(N o  m a t t e r  w h a t  storms may come)

When Jesus gave his life, He gave us so much.

 Thankful.

An Autumn walk & photo hunt...

Today was a sometimes sunny, sometimes crisp Autumny day in Sydney, YAY for a sunny spot on the soccer sidelines early this morning!

After lunch I told the kids to charge up their phones/DS's/camera's/whatever because this afternoon we're going go on  'Photo Scavenger hunt' *Thanks for the great idea Simoney!!

Gosh I loved it too! We should of taken photos of us with our heads in the trees, lying on the ground, peering down driveways...all for a good shot :)

We had 5 categories to snap a photo for >>>

                                 [1.] Something Green

[2.] Something Alive

[3.] Something Beautiful
[4.] Something Built

[5.] Something Small

& I can't believe it's nearly dinner time already...
Have a great rest of the weekend everyone! Enjoy the season you're in xox

Q&A time (Part 1)

Hi there! Penny tagged me (a while back, I'm a bit slow off the mark) to answer the following questions, wahoo, here goes...

Which living person do you admire most and why?
Those who live their lives beautifully and make a world of difference in the lives of others!! My Mum & Dad, and my pastors Brian & Bobbie to name a few!

Choppy!
When were you happiest?
~That moment when my baby whooshes out (relief) and I see and hold them for the first time. Oh my goodness I'd have more babies just to experience that feeling again (jokes)
~Laughing my head off with family and friends.
~In those magical (often everyday) warm fuzzy moments and fun times with my kids

Time flies! Miss E, J and baby Lij
~HIS presence!!! That amazing place where true joy bubbles up from the inside out!

What was your most embarrassing moment?
Haha well there's actually been quite a few!! One that comes to mind....
A friend who was overdue with her baby walked into church. I gave her a hug and said; "You haven't had the baby yet!" Before she even had time to answer her husband walks around the corner carrying A BABY in a car seat!

Aside from property, what’s the most expensive thing you’ve bought?
...probably only airline tickets to Samoa and the Philippines.

I was given my car !!! & nothing in my house is that flash.

What is your most treasured possession?
My babies cot. It was handmade with love from NZ kauri and is the only thing I've ever felt sentimental about!

Where would you like to live?
I'd love a family home of our own (Mortgage free even!) that is a blessing to my family and anyone who walks through it's doors. Location wise...I'm leaving that to God and trusting He'll led us to the right place.

What’s your favourite smell (s)?
Baby Miss E, me...and our friend Tafa!
Bathed babies, cookies in the oven, spring flowers (although they make me sneeze), lemony goodness, a chai latte...etc

Who would play you in the film of your life?
Hmmmmm, ha probably someone who can do clumsy and a raucous laugh!!

What is your favorite book?
The Bible, I couldn't live without it! I scribble all over the pages and read it in the bath...My quiet place, gettn clean from inside and out :)

What is your most unappealing habit?
~Pinching people's cheeks! Miss E told me to stop squeezing her friends cheeks saying; "Mum it was okay when we were 8, but we're 14 now!!" Aww but they're still so squishy and squeezable!!
Miss E, Ruby & Robz!

What is your earliest memory?

~The cows breaking into our front yard.

~Becoming a christian in the bath at 4 or 5. No wonder I love reading my bible in the bath...it's my spiritual home!! I remember the joy I felt, and running out to tell my brother about it!
Ham, Sam and Jam & Rebecca the woodpecker!
What is your guiltiest pleasure?
CHOCOLATE!! Gelato...anything sweet! My sugar addiction is in no way under control!

That's it for now! Part 2 to come...which I see includes; "What was the best kiss of your life?" ummm how to answer that?! :) :)

Gifts that keep giving!

Look what my friend gave me

She made it, Wowza!!! Thanks so much Tamalisa, I lurvvve it!

Tamalisa and I have known each other since we were teenagers in NZ, and now live on opposite sides of Sydney. So it was cool yesterday to catch up half-way for morning-tea...& then lunch. And not just the sculpture, she spoilt me BIG time!

The Good Book!

I walked into the boys room this morning to find my little two in Choppy's bed
reading their bibles...

 Love it!

"...I have treasured the words of His mouth more than my daily bread." -Job 23:12

Praying that His word would dwell in them richly! (Col 3:16)
& that as young men (In the making!) Gods word would make them THRIVE!!!

Trusting one day at a time

 LIVE!  LAUGH!  LOVE!

And for me at the moment I need to add...

TRUST!

"I have so many questions and the Father's simple answer is; "Trust Me."-TF Tenney

"God's "due season" and our "due date" are rarely the same...keep going TRUST Him."-Christine Caine

"People who obssess about where they are in the journey have already lost their way...trust God one day at a time" -Matthew Barnett

I have so many questions and am wondering which way to go now???

Are we ever going to make it back to NZ? ... I really just want to 'settle' somewhere.

I counted last night that we've had 11 homes in the last 11 years...Champion, Abuklea, Quarry, Cook, Charles, Rosebank, Magma, Avoca, Michelle, and no 3&4 in the street we're now in!

Keep going Rebecca, one day at time...trusting. Don't lose your way, God's working it all out far better than you ever could.
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your path straight"-Proverbs 3:5-6

Mother's Day: 2011

Mother's Day...weekend...2011

Lij and Choppy both got 'Man of the Match' at soccer...they played brilliantly!! Choppy's coach described him as a "little terrier"

A yummy lunch, and fun afternoon with our friends 'The Kings'... Jungle gym comps & Mafia card game laughs :) :)

Me and my girl: Miss E wanted a 'Mother, daughter' shot for her 'Mother's Day' FB profile :)

I woke up this morning thanking God for the AMAZING mum I have...and to the sound of my own kids whispering in the kitchen! Blessed.
They made me scrambled eggs on toast (Lij has perfected them) a yogurt parfait, cup of tea...and gave me a gift card for a facial wooo (Thanks for your help there BP!)

Mr Rubik's goes to church...and we went for pizza and gelato after.

It was a special Mother's Day service at Hillsong Church. We were given these beautiful Babushka Dolls, Stan Walker sung to us, and a lady named 'Cass' shared such a stunning message...

She spoke of the 'Pudding Day' tradition her family circle in on the Calendar every November.
A secret recipe...words on paper...a tradition worth passing on!

Deuteronomy 6: Passing on too what we know of God, and our stories to the next generation
v7 "...Talk about them wherever you are, sitting at home, or walking the street..."
Our stories make our kids desire to know the God we know!
One generation to the next!

J's 12th birthday in NZ

My biggest boy turned 12 while we were in NZ! His birthday was on the Saturday of SHOUT Conference, so he had lots of people wishing him Happy Birthday all day!

During the afternooon break I took J and some friends for a round of mini golf, it was so much fun...and well done cousin Caleb who was our golfing champ of the day!

The apartment my parents are living in at the moment (While their house is getting built) has an amazing resort like pool area which the boyz then swam, bombed and dunked each other other in....

Before we headed back up for a table full of goodies mum had laid out (Thanks Mum!), and a 'Baked Lime Cheesecake at J's request:

We celebrated all over again the next day when the family came over for a birthday lunch

Where have those 12 years gone? I still remember holding J as a newborn and thinking; "Wow God I couldn't have even dreamed up a more gorgeous baby boy"

"I love you J! My heart and prayers always for your BEST"
